I heard Charles Eisenstein say recently that depression and anxiety are a form of protest. They are symptoms manifested by our bodies and psyches, protesting the ways we are living and the systems that govern this.
I find this reframing comforting, and it’s a little easier to confess to you that I was protesting a fair bit in the last weeks.
